nietszchean u-borg

He was obsessed with fleshing out his multifarious Avatar. He was a member of so many discussion forums that he always had over three hundred new messages in his Gmail account. He had one room he visited every day and posted a quotation from Nietzsche. This morning he’d posted “He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.” He believed that by quoting Nietzsche to them every day every day, the people in the room would eventually reconsider their values and modes of time evaporation, or even embrace the creative potential of cyber disembodiment. Meanwhile, he insisted that making tempas fugit is the only decent substitute for death, and that’s why he watches more than he reads and why he never liked beaches or cruises, or any other form of pre-meditated relaxation.
